FRIDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 20
The symposium kicked off on Friday with an opportunity to meet the speakers and participants, followed by a dinner where Brad Anderson, former CEO of Best Buy, discussed strategies, successes, and failures in his organizational transformation journey.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21
The symposium resumed for a full day on Saturday and featured speakers and panelists who led in-depth discussions on:
- Transformational leadership theory—its definition, function, and application: Dr. Ron Riggio, co-author of Transformational Leadership and the foremost living expert on transformational leadership, presented the history of Transformational Leadership, as well as the key traits that each of us needs to embody as a Transformational Leader. Dr. Riggio led participants through exercises to help them identify their area of focus in increasing their own Transformational Leadership.
- Change theory and its application in large, dynamic systems and organizations: Dr. Don Beck introduced participants to his revolutionary change model of human and cultural development applied by companies and nations around the globe. He also provided powerful analytic tools to empower participants to understand and empower their own transformation as leaders.
- Personal transformation theory and its application in leadership development: Leaders and leadership trainers themselves, Dr. Bob Wright and Dr. Judith Wright presented their current research results, introducing their unique and powerful model of persoanl transformation that relates current neuroscience with classical research. Bob and Judith guided participants through the inner process of transformation for both leaders and those led. Participants learned to leverage the Model of Evolation to examine and enhance their own and their employees' transformation.
- The CEO leadership challenge: During the question and answer session, Brad Anderson integrated the day's topics in one comprehensive picture, helping participants further develop their own vision for change as well as a vision for their company's transformation.
